A difficult morning for Terry to start

Yesterday is Terry's third day in daycare. For some reason, Terry started crying right after he opened his eyes early morning. He DID NOT want to go to daycare.
From 6:00AM to 9:00AM, he has been cried for almost three hours. His Mom tried everything. I have even played soccer with him for 20 minutes. But once we put cloth on him, he started crying again. He kept repeating that his Mom said he may not go to daycare if he don't want to go today. Later on, my sister recalled that she might say they can talk if he would go to daycare or not on Wednesday. That is the lesson we learned. Going to daycare, this is not a negotiable topic unless you are sick. I didn't want to tell Terry that he would be rewarded if he stopped crying and go to daycare today. I worried he would keep doing this for reward. He learns very quick. Anyway, he was tired and we were tired. Finally, he agreed to go. But he made the last request that I must drive slowly so he can leave home slow. I promised him I would drive slowly.
I am trying to understand what Terry worry about. Somethings are very obvious. He is in a totally new environment. His English is not good enough. He doesn't understand all the ladies say to him. He can't speak out what he want. When I picked him up the first day, he told me he didn't drink enough as he couldn't find his water bottle and he doesn't know how to say "water bottle" in English. He doesn't have any friend now. Every morning, when I escort him to the daycare classroom, he usually walks along the wall first then gradually carefully approach to the tables where lots of kids sit. He needs time to adjust himself and find something to inspire him to go to daycare. And we need patience.
